Although far from Cologne, I think the cheaper brands smell is sweet and cheese. The best brands for longer and smell much better, but it is a matter of taste. Clothing is another matter. With clothes generally get what you pay. I have pieces by designers names better than I do in many years that look good and today I have no clothes cheaper (Wal-Mart) who look after like a rag first wash. I'd rather pay $ 90 for a shirt that I will use for the year, $ 20 for a shirt that used only once or twice.
