General question, Opinion, As far as amps, old school a/b (unregulated power) or new school d-class technology - cheater amps

All opinions welcome ... no right or wrong answers. Old School vs. New School ... CEA 14.4volt (compatible amp 12v vs Cheater underated). Give examples if you want to ... as I said, there is no right or wrong answer, you just want to hear what the public thinks?

I personally like the old equipment. The only problem is that although these things are the most underrated yet powerful enough to satisfy the thirst for power, U-boats on the market today.

A / B amplifiers are cleaner, but only about 65% efficiency
Class D amplifiers are about 80-85% efficiency.

Its all about efficiency.

They are by age, 65% or less, or new Class D 80% or less.

The better the performance, the system works better without consuming much power in the system.

I think that is new better because they work more efficiently and your alternator a little less.

I still like the idea of maintaining the old, but what is new in the best efficiency, of course.

AB as above poster said, they are cleaner, but also less effective because the drains remain the whole time, and exits when it creates heat and saturation, which explains why the amplifier is only 50-60% effective.

Class D amplifiers are very good, because today's cars, electrical equipment ... all PWM and multiplexing of new cars (Caddy call Jag to a few, and now have some of the cars level input)
